Summery Learning Journey

Today we did our first Summery Learning Journey activitie. We did a Summer Learning Journey Teaser which was a Art Colouring app. We got to us some cool paint tools. We had to pick a picture of a app called Art Coloring Book. Then we had to click on it and try and copy the original coloring picture. Can you guess what one is mine?

Intermediate!!!!

Today was an amazing and exciting day. The year six's got to go down to Waikowhai Intermediate. We got to meet out Intermediate teacher for next year. This was an awesome time for all year six's. I got a teacher called Miss Poliko. She is a super nice teacher and I am happy to be in her class. I am also excited because I am in a class with Angelina my friend. We spent about an hour in our classes to get to know our teacher. In that hour we got to write our name on a piece of paper and fill in a getting to know you form. This was super fun and I can't wait to go to Intermediate next year.

Skateboarding!!!

Oh maths maths maths, oh well we didn't do maths today, guess what we did? We did skateboarding!  This week on Friday we have been learning some new skills on a skateboard. We got to do two lessons in one day. There was a lot of fun involved in the skateboarding lessons. We learned lots of new skills but the first thing we did was find a helmet and put it on. We had to make sure it was tight enough so it wouldn't fall of. 

Then we got to ride around for a bit. After that we got into two groups. One group went with a coach called Ben and the other group went with Lawrence. We learned how to balance and do some balancing lunges. We also learn't some skills like the crab walk and tick-tacks. We got to play a game called Mr Wolf but we had to ride our skateboards. It was sometimes challenging when we were learning a new skill that was a bit hard, but then we got the hang of it. After riding a skateboard and learning new skills some of us gained more confidence with riding a skateboard. I had so much fun and I loved that pretty much everyone looked like they were having fun.

Waikowhai Primarys Production

 Our Production 

Talofa Lava bloggers. Today I am going to be blogging about Waikowhai Primary Schools production. As you might of seen in a previous blog I blogged about our production rehearsals. Well last week our real production happened. If you don't know all ready our production was the Disney film Aladdin. There was some things we took our and added to the production. We also changed the name of the production to Jasmine and Aladdin. 

The story was about a Strong Princess named Jasmine who meet a brave and helpful person named Aladdin who had a cat named Persia. Aladdin also meet the Genie of the lamp who made Aladdins dream come true. There was one man who nobody in the kingdom liked, his name was Omar. He tried to cast a spell on Jasmine to make her fall in love with him but the people of the kingdom were two strong and they sent Omar away so he couldn't hurt anyone. Then Jasmine and her friends went traveling together and had such fun. 

Miss McGrath was the person who made all the changes and the script for us to learn our lines on. I was so proud to say that I got the role of Jasmine. Our show was at Waikowhai Intermidate's school hall.

 When our real shows happened it was a load of fun. There was people putting costumes on, getting their hair and make up done and testing the microphones. It was crazy because people were all over the place.  Since I was Jasmine I had a full on outfit and makeup. My makeup had to be full on so that everyone could see my face on stage. I also had a very nice hairdo which my Mum did at the place we preformed. People started coming and and taking there seats while everyone was just finishing of getting ready.  

When the show started some people started to get a bit nervous. There was a whole lot or cheering and clapping during the show. It was a blast. Sometimes when I wasn't in a seane it was a bit boring but that wasn't often. 

The show was so fun and I am so proud of myself for doing my best and going for a main role.

Garden to table!!

 Garden to table!!!

This year we have been making and planting things in our garden. The first thing we got to eat out of our garden was broccoli and broccoflower mixed with cheese sause.

How we grew our broccoli and broccoflower was we planted the seeds in our green house and once they had grown a bit, we put them into our real garden. We kept watering the broccoli and broccoflower until they looked like they were about to go to seed. So then we pulled out the food and cooked it with a cheese sauce. Everyone in my syndicate got to have some of the yummy food. Something funny was I had a treat in my food and that treat was a slug. Luckily, I didn't eat it and the slug lived to see another day!

Wonder Project, Final Flight

Since the middle of term three we have been doing Wonder Project. We had to come up with a team name and do lots of other challenges. My teams name was Happy Rockets.

This week in Wonder Project we did our final flights. We had to make changes to our rocket to see if it would fly better. My group didn't make a lot of changes but we did take off the fins and make them more stable. We also added a magnet to make our rocket weigh a bit more. Then we got to do our final flight with the changes that we made to our rocket. We first had to pour how much water we wanted in our bottle and make sure the air presure was 0psi. Then we would put our rocket on the stand and pump the pressure pump until it was at 60psi. Once everyone was safe and stood back we counted down from ten "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1," We all cheered as the rocket flew high in the sky. Our rocket went 23 metres which was really cool. 

I think our rocket flew very well but I do think it could have flown better. I think next time my group could make the fins bigger and a different shape. Other than that I think our rocket was amazing.

Production Rehearsals

 Kia Ora Bloggers, I'm back.

Since term three we have been doing Production Rehearsals. Since term four started we have been using props. We have been doing a lot of rehearsals. On Wednesday we did a rehearsal during school and after school. We practiced scenes one, two and three. Then on Thursday we did a rehearsal during school and after school. This time we practiced scenes four, five and six. The last time we practised this week was Friday during school. We go to practice scenes eight and nine. Then we practicsed those scenes again but with the year five and six's dance. I am enjoying rehearsals so far and can't wait to do more in the future.
